I'm really new to Xamarin, let alone Xamarin.Forms, so I'm still getting my feet wet in this new framework. And at the moment, all my app is doing, since I just started, is displaying pages. And by the way, then I connect my WP to my computer and try to send the app to my phone, I can tell it's trying to install and load, but it never does.I'm not saying that there could be some problem in my code, but it works on the only platform that I can run, which is on iOS. It's just hard to when the only information out there covers only things that go perfectly and nothing when they don't.I can build a CMS MVC app from scratch in 10 days, but I'm struggling to just get setup for mobile development. When I see instructions like this, I just close the page and go away because everything after it will be useless to me since I don't know what this first thing is.I know, you're probably thinking I'm a moron, and you'd be correct, when it comes to mobile development, but I'm trying to learn. Then the HAXM article says:In the SDK Manager, make sure you have installed the x86 Atom System Image for the desired Android SDK versionWhat?!? How do I know what version I want or need? What is an x86 Atom System Image? I can't be the only person who's completely brand new to app development and has no idea what all these things are. I look at the Android SDK dialog and it shows me many things, all of which I have no idea what they are. If they are emulators, then how do I know which one to choose? None of them mean anything to me. How did you setup your machine? What is the recommended way to setup my system to be able to run all emulators on my machine? I had already read that article on accelerating android emulators, and I mentioned that I don't really know what all those items that are listed are, or mean. How are they accomplishing this? I'm a little hesitant to do much in my bios, since I tend to assume the fetus position when things go wrong. So my plan is to possibly disable Hyper-V, see if I can get my Windows Phone device connected, and see if that helps make some android emulator work. :) But before you respond to that, if I disable Hyper-V since android emulators seem to not like it, and find that my plugged in Windows Phone device works, should that suffice enough for me to continue my development?I found some information about Windows Phone emulator setup but they all describe going into the bios and enabling a setting for any one of many options, such as VT-x, etc. Just a - your suggestion of installing a guest into Hyper-V sounds like a good one, if I knew what that meant. If not, then I don't know why it won't work.Has Anti-Virus software such as McAfee ever been known to interfere with emulators from working properly?
